2021

08 Jun The 2021 Population Census and the future of INE demographic statistics, 16 – 17 October 2018, Madrid

In 2015, the INE (the Spanish National Institute for Statistics), together with the Association of Historical Demography (ADEH) and the Population Department of CSIC, organised the first Conference on demographic information, where the current situation and future projects in the field of demographic statistics were discussed and, in particular, the 2021 Census project was presented. Researchers from 30 different universities, 8 Autonomous Community statistical institutes, numerous representatives from different administrations and around twenty companies were present. Both the INE and  CSIC consider it necessary to repeat this initiative and give it continuity.

The objectives to be covered in this second edition of the conference are fundamentally to show the progress made in the work of the 2021 population and housing census and the status of this ambitious project, and to report on the progress made by the INE since 2015 in demographic statistics as well as to debate on the present and future of demographic statistics in general.

This conference is co-organised by the INE and the LONGPOP project (Diego Ramiro).

Registration is needed to participate before 12th of October.
