The Workshop on Automated Registration of Historical Population Registers: New Prospects and Possibilities will take place on the 14 February 2019 in the Centre for Economic Demography, School of Economics and Management, Lund University (Building Alfa 1, room 1104).

The seminar is organised by the Centre for Economic Demography, Lund University, and the National Archives (Lund) in collaboration with the IUSSP Scientific Panel on Historical Demography, SwedPop, and the LONGPOP project. It will include sessions on OCR, handwritten text recognition techniques, digitizing and analyzing historical documents with AI and Big Data.
